Dr. Natasha Ita MacDonald is an Inuk from Kuujjuaraapik, Nunavik. She recently completed her PhD at Concordia University with her research on Inuit-led approaches to decolonizing education and protecting Inuktitut through Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit. She is the founder of Silattusarniq Community Solutions Consulting, where she supports Inuit-driven research, evaluation, and training grounded in Inuit values and ways of being. Natasha is currently working with Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami to co-develop the action plan for the future Inuit Nunangat University. Her ongoing research in Nunavik focuses on decolonizing healthcare responses to tuberculosis. She also contributes to Indigenous language maintenance and revitalization as Vice-President of Heritage Lab, a non-profit supporting community-led cultural and linguistic preservation through AI.
